UFC Fight Champion Ronda Rousey!

Recently emerging as one of mixed martial arts’ most famous fighters, the world has quickly fallen in love with Ronda Rousey. Not only is she dominant in her division, but her attitude towards his rise to fame has not been limited to the world of MMA, however. In recent years, Rousey’s growing profile has led to her featuring in some big box office films. Making her debut in the Sylvester Stallone-led action franchise installment ‘The Expendables 3,’ she  has since gone on to have roles in both ‘Furious 7’ and ‘Entourage,’ in which she played a version of herself and played up her image in the media.

Appearing in huge films might have seemed strange to the girl who once struggled with her speech. Up until the age of six years old, Rousey found it difficult to construct sentences thanks to a medical issue stemming from her birth. After receiving speech therapy in California, she has taken on the challenge with the same attitude she would later apply in her fights, beating the impediment.

Like any professional sportsperson, keeping up a strict diet is vital to Ronda. Though she used to be a vegan, she has recently described her approach to food as lying somewhere between a Paleo regime and a Warrior diet.

Always keen to talk about her interests in public, Rousey has long been a fan of the massive multiplayer online role-playing game, World of Warcraft. In addition to playing the game, she has also chatted about her interest in both Pokemon and Dragonball Z. With her on-going love of professional wrestling, she was concerned at one point that the ‘Rowdy’ nickname that her friends gave to her might be considered disrespectful to the wrestler, Roddy Piper. However, she had no need to be concerned. Piper himself came out to add his name to the growing list of admirers and fully backed Rousey to take the title. Following Piper’s recent death, Ronda dedicated a win to his memory.

In terms of charity work, Ronda has recently spent a lot of time raising money for the Black Jaguar, White Tiger Foundation. This charity is dedicated to saving large cats from around the world. It aims to free them from captivity (such as zoos and circuses) and helps them to enjoy the best possible life. As well as her support, Ronda has provided signed items to the Foundation to help them raise money and awareness.
