Ronda Jean Rousey is a Mixed Martial Artist and is the current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Ronda is also the current Strike force Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Ronda Rousey was the first American woman to ever earn an Olympic medal in Judo at the Beijing Summer Olympics in 2008. Ronda Rousey is rated number one female Mixed Martial Artists in the world for pound-for-pound. Ronda started training in Judo when she was eleven. She became the youngest judoka in the 2004 Olympic Games where she won a gold medal. Ronda  made her Mixed Martial Arts debut in 2010 where she fought against Hayden Monoz. She defeated Hayden in twenty-three seconds with an arm bar. Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey was the first female to sign with the UFC. She made her UFC debut in 2013.

Ronda  is very involved in charity. She raises money for many charity organizations, which include:
The White Tiger Foundation: The White Tiger Foundation rescues big cats from bad circumstances, then provides them with a healthy and happy life. Ronda has created a website for this charity organization. She puts items of hers on the website, and all proceeds go to this organization.

Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services: The Didi Hirsch Mental Services in Southern California is an organization that provides assistance for substance abuse individuals and counseling. Ronda trained individuals for the charity for $200 each, and all proceeds went to the organization, but Ronda Rousey didn’t stop there; she donated five thousand dollars personally to the organization.

Instituto Reacao: Instituto Reacao is a charity program that teaches judo to Brazilian children and teens. Ronda  donated thirty thousand dollars to the organization, so she could help those wanting to practice judo, but couldn’t afford it.

Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey got her nickname from friends, but she didn’t want to use it, because she thought she was disrespecting the wrestler, Rowdy Piper. She met Rowdy Piper, and he told her he would be honored if she used the nickname “Rowdy”. What jobs did Ronda do before she became a champion? Ronda worked as a bartender, cocktail waitress, and at the 24-hour fitness gym. Who is her hero? Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey’s hero is FEDOR.

Ronda  Rousey’s father, Ron broke his neck while he was sledding with his daughters. He contracted a blood disorder, which left his as a paraplegic, because he didn’t heal properly. He committed suicide when Ronda was only eight years old.

Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey finished just her last fight against Cat Zingano on Saturday, March 21, 2015 in Los Angeles. She won the fight in just fourteen seconds. Both fighters had undefeated records. This fight was the fastest finish ever in any UFC championship fight. We can see Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey making more records as her career has just begun to get started.
